NC State Signee Jalen Lecque to Skip Jordan Brand Classic to Prep for Draft

NC State 2019 signee Jalen Lecque was scheduled to play in the prestigious Jordan Brand Classic this weekend, but he is opting out of participating so that he can prepare for the NBA Draft Combine in May (14th-19th).

This move is rather interesting in my opinion. I expected Lecque would want to show out at the Jordan Brand Classic with scouts and the nation watching to boost his draft status. A player doesn’t necessarily develop their skills at the JBC, but they are seen.

Obviously Lecque thinks his time will be better spent polishing his skills in Atlanta.

Again, this news isn’t a guarantee that Lecque won’t suit up for NC State next year.

Lecque will go through the Combine, and then has until May 29th (NCAA Early Entry Entrant Withdrawal Deadline) to remove his name from the list, or keep it in the pot.
