It took a little while to get things cooking.

In his first two years here, Dave Doeren’s saw only 1 NC State player taken in the NFL Draft (Dontae Johnson).

In an utter contrast, the Wolfpack have seen 13 players drafted over the past 3 years under Doeren, ranking 3rd in the ACC.

2016-18

  • 1) Clemson – 18
  • 2) Miami – 17
  • 3) NC State – 13
  • 4) Florida State – 12
  • 5) Virginia Tech – 10
  • 6) Pitt – 9
  • 6) UNC – 9
  • 8) Louisville – 7
  • 8) Boston College – 7
  • 10) Wake Forest – 3
  • 10) Georgia Tech – 3
  • 10) Virginia – 3
  • 13) Syracuse – 2
  • 14) Duke – 0

The fact that NC State has sent more players through the NFL Draft over the past three years than programs like Florida State and Virginia Tech reveals the type of momentum that is building in Raleigh.

NC State set a new school recored last year, with 7 players drafted, tying Ohio State for the second most. Last night Center Garrett Bradbury was taken by the Vikings with the 18th pick in the 1st Round. The Wolfpack are expected to see 3-6 more players drafted over the next two days.
