Derrik Smits Chooses Butler over NC State & Arizona State

Valparaiso Graduate Transfer Derrik Smits chose to transfer to Butler yesterday, over finalists NC State and Arizona State.

NC State still has one scholarship available in 2019, and possibly more with Jalen Lecque and Markell Johnson exploring NBA possibilities.

The Wolfpack lost out on Smits to Butler, and Charleston Southern Graduate Transfer Christian Keeling committed to UNC. Smits took an official visit to NC State, and Keeling had one scheduled.

That leaves 2020 Point Guard Jalen Cone and JUCO Small Forward Atticus Taylor. Cone recently received an offer from the Wolfpack, and can reclassify to 2019. Taylor is taking an official visit to NC State on May 1st.
