NC State’s Markell Johnson is Working Out for the Hawks Tomorrow

NC State Point Guard Markell Johnson is exploring his NBA options, and according to Hawks beat reporter Chris Kirschner, he will be working out for Atlanta tomorrow.

Johnson will go through the NBA Draft evaluation process, and has until May 29th to decide whether he will return to school. From what I’ve heard, it wouldn’t be shocking for Johnson to opt not to return for his Senior season.

NC State recently offered 2020 Point Guard Jalen Cone, who has the ability to reclassify to the 2019 class. That offer convinces me that the Wolfpack coaches know there is a strong possibility that either Johnson or 2019 signee Jalen Lecque won’t be in Raleigh next year, or possibly both.
