UMKC Graduate Transfer Center Danny Dixon (6’10″/230) has committed to NC State.

Dixon played his first two years at George Mason, and sat out the 2017-18 season under NCAA transfer rules after heading to UMKC. He averaged 7.5 points and 3.6 rebounds in 2018-19 for the Kangaroos this year, starting in 16 of the 32 games he played in (19.7 minutes per game).

As a Graduate Transfer, Dixon will be able to play immediately, and has one year of eligibility remaining.

NC State’s backcourt for next year is as follows:

  • Graduate Senior Pat Andree (6’8″/225)
  • Graduate Senior Danny Dixon (6’10″/230)
  • Redshirt Junior DJ Funderburk (6’10″/210)
  • Redshirt Freshman Manny Bates (6’11″/211)

With the addition of Dixon, this reveals that NC State is either losing Senior point guard Markell Johnson, 2019 point guard signee Jalen Lecque, or attrition somewhere else on the roster.
