With the commitment of UKMC Graduate Transfer Danny Dixon today, and the recent commitment of JUCO Transfer Atticus Taylor, here’s a look at NC State’s projected 2019-20 Men’s Basketball roster.

1-Year of Eligibility Left

  • Senior Point Guard Markell Johnson
  • Redshirt Senior Guard CJ Bryce
  • Graduate Senior Power Forward Pat Andree
  • Graduate Senior Center Danny Dixon

2-Years of Eligibility Left

  • Junior Guard Braxton Beverly
  • Junior Point Guard Blake Harris
  • Redshirt Junior Guard Devon Daniels
  • Redshirt Junior Forward DJ Funderburk
  • Redshirt Sophomore Guard Thomas Allen (Transferred from Nebraska. Has to sit out a year due to transfer rules)

3-Years of Eligibility Left

  • Sophomore Forward Jericole Hellems
  • Sophomore Forward Atticus Taylor

4-Years of Eligibility Left

  • Redshirt Freshman Forward Manny Bates
  • Freshman Guard Dereon Seabron
  • Freshman Guard Jalen Lecque

If you did the math, that’s 14 scholarship players, and there’s only 13 available.

According to Joe Giglio of the News & Observer, 2019 4-Star Point Guard signee Jalen Lecque is likely to stay in the NBA Draft.

If Lecque does in fact remain in the 2019 NBA Draft, NC State will be back to 13 scholarships.

Giglio also said that Senior Point Guard Markell Johnson is academically eligible heading into next season. Not only is Johnson going through the NBA Draft Evaluation Process, but his academics had been in question.
