RALEIGH – No. 17 NC State baseball came up short in its midweek contest with Campbell on Tuesday evening at Doak Field at Dail Park, 5-3.

The Wolfpack held a two-run lead until the fourth, when the Camels scored all five of its runs. The Pack managed to tack on a run in the eighth with the bases loaded, and loaded the bags up again in the ninth, but couldn’t produce any runs.

NC State falls to 37-13 on the year while Campbell improves to 28-16 overall.

Quick Hits

-NC State struck in the second inning on Luca Tresh’s sac fly to right field. Tyler McDonough led off with a single through the right side, and Brad Debo followed up with a double down the right field line to put runners in scoring position.

-With runners at the corners after Debo advanced to third in the sac fly and Cooper drew a walk, a J.T. Jarrett RBI groundout to third plated the other run in the second.

-The Camels got on the board in the fourth, stringing together four hits to score as many runs. Zach Minnick’s single up the middle plated the first run, and Grant Harris’s homer to right field drove in the other three.

-Additionally, AJ Hrica’s sac fly to center field tacked on the Camels’ fifth run of the side.

-Tresh tallied his other RBI on the night with a bases-loaded walk in the eighth, cutting the Pack’s deficit to two.

-The Pack once again loaded the bases up in the ninth, putting the game-winning run on first with two down, but a fly out by McDonough to deep right center ended the threat.
