Former NC State All-American Shortstop Trea Turner hit for the CYCLE last night against Colorado. It was the 2nd cycle of Turner’s young career, and ironically, both have been at the receiving hands of the Rockies. Turner becomes only the 3rd player in MLB history to hit for the Cycle twice against a single team.

Turner is only the 26th player in MLB history to hit for the Cycle multiple times in their career.

His leadoff home run was the 9th of his career, tying Alfonso Soriano for the Nationals record.

“For me, it’s almost [funnier] than anything that I got lucky enough to get all the right hits,” Turner said. “I think it’s kind of a lucky stat, just because you’ve got to put the ball in the right place at the right time. And I ended up doing that.”

“It’s a hard game, and to get four hits in one game is hard to do,” Turner said. “To have four different ones is, I think, a little bit of luck. But also, at the same time, a little humbling to be with those guys.”
