NC State’s Chris Dunn Named to Groza Award Preseason Watch List

NC State Sophomore Place Kicker Chris Dunn has been named to the 2019 Groza Award Preseason Watch List. The Groza Award has been awarded to the nations best place kicker since 1992.

Dunn’s 23 field goals didn’t just double the NC State freshman record, they topped even Marc Primanti’s Groza Award-winning 1996 season to set a new mark for all Wolfpack kickers. He’s one of just six returning kickers who made at least 20 field goals, and his 88.5% rate is the best of that bunch, including reigning Groza winner Andre Szmyt. (Groza)

Dunn earned 2nd Team All-ACC honors as a Freshman. He ranked 3rd in the ACC in scoring with 9.2 points per game (7th among Power 5 players). His 88.5% mark led the league and ranked 8th in NC State history.
