247: NC State’s Zonovan Knight 1 of 10 True Freshman to Watch

Chad Bishop of 247Sports believes there are 10 True Freshman in college football heading into the 2019 season, and NC State Running Back Zonovan Knight made the elite list.

Here’s what they had to say about Knight:

Throughout spring ball, the buzz grew around Knight who totaled 136 yard rushing, 26 yards receiving and scored a touchdown in North Carolina State’s spring game.

He was the nation’s No. 18 running back, 13th-ranked player in North Carolina’s 2019 class and No. 304 overall according to 247Sports.

The dynamic Knight displayed tremendous speed, quickness and playmaking ability this preseason which helped him make an early statement.

“Obviously Zonovan Knight flashed,” NC State head coach Dave Doeren said earlier this year. “Good to see him out there. I’m excited about what he brings to the running game.

“He is an exciting player. I’ve been telling you guys he’s explosive, he’s smart, he’s hungry. That’s a guy that can change the game if you miss him.” (247)

The Wolfpack enter Game 1 this Saturday with a Running Back by committee, but the order of the committee has Knight right behind Sophomore Ricky Person.
