NC State Men’s Basketball Set to Have a Monster Recruiting Weekend

According to 247Sports’ Evan Daniels, NC State head coach Kevin Keatts has lined up a monster recruiting weekend for the season opening football game.

4-Star 2020 Point Guard Deivon Smith (6’0″/165) and 4-Star 2020 Center John Hugley IV (6’9″/240) will be on Official Visits this weekend.

This will be Smith’s 1st Official Visit, and he will take his next one to Louisville the following weekend. The Wolfpack obviously made Smith’s Top-10 that he released, along with Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State, Miami, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Oregon, Florida State and Ole Miss. 247Sports ranks Smith as the #41 overall player in the 2020 recruiting class, the #5 point guard (Composite), and #4 player in the state of Georgia. Smith plays for Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. NC State offered him on July 10th.

The Wolfpack offered Hugley IV on July 18th, and was included in his Top-12 on July 22nd, along with Miami, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Florida, Kansas State, Florida State, Mizzou, Penn State, and UCONN. 247Sports ranks Hugley as the #73 overall player in the 2020 recruiting class, and Rivals ranks him 93rd. 247 also ranks him as the #11 Center in the nation, and the #3 player in the state of Ohio. Hugley plays for Brush High School in Cleveland, Ohio. After taking his 1st Official Visit to Raleigh this weekend, Hugley also has Official Visits scheduled to Miami (9/20) and Pitt (9/27).

2020 NC State Power Forward commit Nick Farrar (6’7″/230) will be in attendance on an unofficial visit, trying to lure Smith and Hugley to join him. Farrar recently broke into the rankings over at 247Sports, as a 3-Star prospect, and the #166 player in the 2020 recruiting class. He plays for Apex Friendship (Apex, NC), and committed to run with the Pack on August 7th.

3-Star 2021 Shooting guard Terquavian Smith (6’3″/180), the only other current Wolfpack commit will be joining Farrar. Smith plays for Farmville (Farmville, NC), and committed to NC State on February 18th.

Four other extremely talented 2021 prospects will be on an unofficial visit with Smith.

5-Star Small Forward Quincy Allen (6’7″/180) received an offer from NC State on June 16th. 247Sports ranks him as the #19 overall player (Composite) in the 2021 recruiting class, the #6 Small Forward, and the #1 player in Washington D.C. Allen plays for Maret School in the nations Capitol. He also holds offers from Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Florida, Syracuse, Boston College, Clemson, Miami, Pitt, Rutgers, Seton Hall and others.

4-Star Small Forward Dontrez Styles (6’6″/199) is ranked as the #91 overall player in the 2021 class by Rivals. NC State offered Styles on July 16th. The standout from Kinston, North Carolina also holds offers from Georgetown, Maryland, Mississippi, Pitt, Clemson, St. John’s, VCU and others.

4-Star Point Guard Carter Whitt picked up an offer from NC State after the John Wall Holiday Invitational on December 31st. Whitt is a player that the Wolfpack would love to keep in Raleigh, playing for Leesville Road. Rivals ranks him as the #44 player in the 2021 class, and 247Sports ranks him as the #8 point guard and #2 player in the state of North Carolina. It was previously reported that Whitt would be taking his first official visit to Boston College this weekend, but it looks like plans may have changed. Whitt also holds offers from Clemson, Florida, Boston College, Iowa State, Maryland, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest.
