Notes

  • Unfortunate Redshirt Junior “X” Receiver CJ Riley will miss the remainder of the season, after tearing his ACL against ECU Saturday.
  • With Riley out, Redshirt Freshman Devin Carter will move into the starting role. Last week there was an “OR” between him and Redshirt Freshman Josiah Provillon, but that has been removed in Week 2. Carter caught 1 pass for 12 yards in Week 1, and Provillon dropped a pass.

The Defensive portion of the Depth Chart is a tad confusing. It basically functions as a depth chart for both the 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 schemes, with the Wolfpack playing the latter most of the day this past Saturday.

It has the Depth Chart for the scenario in which they play 4 defensive linemen, and the depth chart for when they run three linebackers, mushed into one.

  • In the 3-3-5, there’s a “Buck” linebacker, and Redshirt Junior Brock Miller is the starter, with Redshirt Freshman Payton Wilson backing him up. Both players were extremely active on Saturday. This week Redshirt Freshman Seth Williams appears on the depth chart for the first time, as the 3rd string “Buck” Linebacker. Williams was a walk-on who received a scholarship three weeks ago.
    • Last week, with a 4-2-5 depth chart, Miller and Wilson were listed as backups to Louis Acceus at Weakside Linebacker.
  • In the 3-3-5, True Freshman Drake Thomas still remains the backup to Redshirt Sophomore Isaiah Moore at Middle Linebacker, but Redshirt Freshman CJ Hart is now backing up Acceus at Weakside, instead of playing Middle.
  • True Freshman Nose Tackle Josh Harris and True Freshman Defensive Tackle CJ Clark we’re our last week due to injury, and appear on the Depth Chart this week for the 1st time, at third string. Doeren mentioned after the game Saturday that he was hoping Harris would be back this week.
