Zonovan Knight Expected to Play vs. FSU

Head Coach Dave Doeren expects Freshman Running Back Zonovan Knight to play for NC State in their season opener against FSU Saturday night down in Tallahassee.

Bam came out of the Ball State game early with hamstring tightness, and never returned. Knight rushed the ball 8 times for 36 yards in limited action.

On Monday, Doeren had this to say about Knight being removed from the game, and his expectation for him to play on Saturday.

“Expect to have him. I think he could have gone back in the game. But where we were at, Ricky was playing well, Jordan was playing well. I haven’t seen him yet today. He’s been in the training room doing all those things, but expect to have him Saturday.”

A healthy Bam Knight will be huge for NC State’s success in ACC play in 2019. With the depth that the Wolfpack have at Running Back, there is no need to rush Knight back. Sophomore Ricky Person had 3 total touchdowns against the Seminole’s last year, and Freshman Jordan Houston has shown himself to be an explosive change-of-pace weapon.
