NC State vs. FSU: Series Breakdown

Tonight’s matchup between NC State and Florida State marks the 40th time the two teams have played one another.

FSU has won 26 of the 39 matchups, and 15 of 20 down in Tallahassee.

Despite the lopsided nature of the series, the Wolfpack has won the past two contests. Dating back to 1952, NC State has never won three straight against the Seminoles.

Since FSU joined the ACC in 1992, NC State has beaten the Seminoles 9 times. A win today would tie Clemson for the most ACC victories over FSU.

Even though they’ve only won 2 of the last 5, the Wolfpack have gotten off to fast start, leading at the end of the 1st quarter in each game (68-14). Strangely enough, the opening frame has been FSU’s best quarter in 2019, outscoring their opponents 56-9 in the 1st.

This marks the 5th time NC State has opened ACC play against FSU, going 2-2 in the prior contests.
