Russell Wilson Works Historical Magic on TNF

Former NC State Quarterback Russell Wilson was magical on Thursday Night Football last night. He was near perfect, completing 17 of 23 for 268 yards and 4 touchdowns (0 interceptions) for a QB Rating of 151.8 in the Seahawks 30-29 victory over the Rams. Wilson also rushed the ball 8 times for 32 yards.

Let’s highlight one particular magical play. Wilson’s 1st touchdown pass of the game to Tyler Lockett was one of the most improbable plays football fans have seen in some time.

According to ESPN’s Next Gen Stats, there was a 6.3% chance of success, making it the most unlikely completion since Week 12 of the 2017 season.

Through 5 games, Wilson is off to one of the best starts by a quarterback in the Super Bowl era (1967).

Through the last 19 games, Wilson has thrown 42 touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions.

Insane.
