NC State’s Depth Chart for their game against Syracuse on Thursday night is below, with notes underneath.

Notes

  • The injury to Justin Witt has led to a big mix up on the NC State Offensive Line.
    • Graduate Redshirt Senior Emanuel McGirt has moved from Left Tackle to Right Tackle to fill in for the injured Justin Witt. Redshirt Sophomore Bryson Speas, who serves as a utility knife on the Offensive Line, has moved from Left Guard to Right Tackle on the Depth Chart, backing up McGirt. Redshirt Freshman Derrick Eason is listed as 3rd String.
    • With McGirt moving to the Right Side, True Freshman Ikem Ekwonu will get the start at Left Tackle. Ekwonu played was 64 snaps against FSU, and leads the team in Pancake Blocks (16), despite coming off the bench the past 5 games. Technically, McGirt is also listed as Ekwonu’s backup at Left Tackle as well.
    • True Freshman Dylan McMahon has moved from the backup Center role, to the backup to Redshirt Junior Joe Sculthorpe at Left Guard.
    • With McMahon moving to Left Guard, Redshirt Sophomore Charles Fletcher will be backing up Redshirt Sophomore Grant Gibson at Center.
    • True Freshman Timothy McKay has moved from Right Tackle to backing up Junior Joshua Fedd-Jackson at Right Guard.
  • Redshirt Sophomore Matt McKay has gone from starting Quarterback to 3rd string Quarterback. Redshirt Sophomore Bailey Hockman has been named the starter for the Wolfpack against Syracuse, and Redshirt Freshman Devin Leary will back him up.
  • Even though there is an “OR” between their names, Sophomore Nose Tackle Alim McNeil is listed ahead of Redshirt Junior Val Martin. McNeil started the game against Florida State, despite being listed as Martin’s backup on the depth chart.
  • Senior Nick McCloud is still out, so Senior Kishawn Miller will start once again at Left Cornerback.
  • With Redshirt Freshman Taiyon Palmer out for the year, Redshirt Freshman Malik Dunlap is now the backup to Junior Chris Ingram at Right Cornerback.
  • Sophomore Ricky Person was listed as the starting Running Back on the Depth Chart vs. FSU, but with him out due to injury this week, Freshman Zonovan Knight sits at the top os the list, with Freshman Jordan Houston and Redshirt Freshman Trent Pennix underneath him with “OR’s” in between all their names. Knight has started two games this season.
