Former NC State All-American Shortstop Trea Turner and the Washington Nationals advanced to the 2019 World Series after sweeping the Cardinals last night.

Turner is 1 of 10 former Wolfpack baseball players to play in the playoffs, and after last night, he is about to be 1 of 7 to play in the World Series.

Shortstop Trea Turner – 1 time (2019)
Infielder Jimmy Brown – 1 time (1942)
Pitcher Mike Caldwell – 1 time (1982)
Shortstop Adam Everett – 1 time (2005) (Transferred to South Carolina after 1 season)
Rightfielder Dave Robertson – 1 time (1917)
Pitcher Tim Stoddard – 1 time (1979)
Infielder Tracy Woodson – 1 time (1988)

If the Nationals win the World Series, Turner would be only the 3rd former NC State baseball player to win a World Series, and the first since 1988.
