Trea Turner’s SB Earns Free Tacos For America

Former NC State All-American Shortstop Trea Turner and the Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros in Game 1 of the 2019 World Series last night 5-4, but more importantly, Trea stole a base, earning America free tacos.

Taco Bell started the “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” World Series promotion back in 2007. In a nutshell, if a player steals a base in the World Series, then everyone in the United States can get a free taco at the Bell on a specified day for a limited amount of time.

Turner became the quickest player to ever steal a taco.

As the leadoff batter for the visiting team in Game 1 of the ’19 Fall Classic, Turner recorded the fastest “Steal a Taco” swipe in the promotion’s history. After reaching on an infield single to shortstop on the second pitch of the game, Turner broke for second base on the first pitch to Adam Eaton — the third pitch of the game. (MLB)

Turner is the 8th Taco Hero in the history of the promotion joining:

Your free taco will be available on October 30th between 2-6pm at a Taco Bell near you.
