NC State has Played the 2nd Most Freshmen in the Nation

NC State is young.

The roster was young entering the year, and the product on the field has only gotten younger as the year as progressed.

To start the year, 16 of the 22 starters were Seniors and Juniors against East Carolina. That number dropped all the way down to 10 against Boston College. In Game 1, zero Freshman started, and 5 started against the Eagles a week-and-a-half ago.

Add all this up, and the Wolfpack has played the 2nd most Freshman in the nation behind the Clemson Tigers.

Twenty-one Freshmen played against Boston College. 21! That was equivalent to the total number of Juniors and Seniors that played.

There has been a lot of different combinations on the field this season, and those combinations have only become younger and younger. There are some talented underclassmen on this roster, but they are being forced to grow up fast.
