Published

on

NC State’s depth chart for their matchup against Wake Forest is below with notes underneath.

Notes

  • Redshirt Freshman Devin Leary is now the starting quarterback.
  • Redshirt Sophomore Bryson Speas has started the past two weeks, but this is his first time being listed as the starter on the Depth Chart. Against Syracuse, Speas started at Right Tackle, and started at Right Guard against on Boston College.
  • Graduate Redshirt Senior Emanuel McGirt started the first 5 games at Left Tackle, and started against Boston College at Right Tackle. At this point, it looks like Freshman Ikem Ekwonu has taken the starting job at Left Tackle, and Speas has taken the job at Right Tackle, leaving McGirt as the swing man now, listed as Ekwonu’s backup.
  • Injuries have been relentless this year, and it looks like the Wolfpack have another player to add to the list. Redshirt Junior Tight End Dylan Parham isn’t listed on the depth chart. The loss of Parham means that NC State has lost two of their Tight Ends thus far in 2019. It is unknown how long Parham will be gone. Redshirt Junior Thomas Rocchio is listed as Angeline’s backup at Tight End now.
  • There is no longer an “OR” in between Redshirt Sophomore Slot Receiver Thayer Thomas and Graduate Redshirt Senior Tabari Hines.
  • There is now an “OR” in between the names of Redshirt Sophomore Quarterbacks Bailey Hockman and Matt McKay.
  • Sophomore Running Back Ricky Person and Senior Cornerback Nick McCloud are still absent from the Depth Chart.
  • Redshirt Sophomore Ibrahim Kante has taken Redshirt Freshman Joseph Boletepeli’s job as the the starting Defensive End on the other side of Graduate Redshirt Senior James Smith-Williams. In fact, Boletepeli went from starter to 3rds string in one week. Kante has started 4 games already in 2019.
  • Freshman Defensive End Savion Jackson has moved from 3rd string to 2nd string behind Kante.
  • Due to injuries at Cornerback, De’Von Graves has been officially moved on the Depth Chart from Strong Safety to the starter Left Cornerback. Senior Kishawn Miller was listed as the starter at Left Cornerback against Boston College, but didn’t end up starting.
  • Since Graves has moved to Cornerback, Freshman Jakeen Harris is now Graduate Redshirt Senior Jarius Morehead’s backup at Strong Safety. Harris played 26 snaps against BC, which were his first snaps from scrimmage.
  • Junior Chris Ingram was listed as the starter on the last Depth Chart at Right Cornerback, but he is officially out for the year. Redshirt Freshman Malik Dunlap started last week at Left Cornerback, but is now listed as the starter at Right Cornerback on the other side of Graves.
  • Due to a lack of depth at Cornerback due to injuries, Freshman Cecil Powell has been moved from Wide Receiver back to his original position.
  • Freshman Shyheim Battle is listed as a 3rd string Cornerback, and he has yet to take snap from the line of scrimmage. Battle has played on Special Teams in one game this season.
