NBCSports Ranks NC State’s Markell Johnson as the #96 Player in the Nation

NBCSports released their Top-100 Men’s College Basketball players headed into the 2019-20 season, and they rank NC State Senior Point Guard Markell Johnson 96th.

96. Markell Johnson, N.C. State

Johnson had a very good season for the Wolfpack, posting 12.6 points and 4.2 assists while shooting 42.2 percent from three. If N.C. State is going to make the leap to being a top five team in the ACC, Johnson is going to have to be in the mix for a first-team All-ACC spot. (RD) (NBC)

I’m not an expert on all of the top players in the nation, but my mind will explode if there are legitimately 95 players better than Johnson. If Markell can play like “2nd half Markell” for 40 minutes a game all year, he will find himself near the top of year end lists.
