NC State’s Thayer Thomas Named to Burlsworth Trophy Watch List

NC State Redshirt Sophomore Wide Receiver Thayer Thomas has been named to the Burlsworth Trophy Watch List. The Burlsworth Trophy was established in 2010, awarding the best player in college football who was originally a walk-on. Last year, Clemson’s Hunter Renfrow took home the trophy.

Thomas earned a scholarship prior to the start of last season, and has been an integral part of the football team since Day 1.

Currently, Thomas ranks 1st in the ACC in punt return average (14.9). On the year, he has 26 receptions for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns. Thomas has also thrown 2 touchdowns.
