The #12 NC State Women’s Basketball team defeated Texas (3-3) 84-73 yesterday in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Hawaii, improving to 6-0.

The Wolfpack was led by Senior Guard Aislinn Konig and Junior Guard Kai Crutchfield, who both scored over 20 points. Konig scored 25 points, and Crutchfield had 23 points, which were both career highs.

Konig and Crutchfield both had 4 three pointers a piece.

Even though they were the only two players to score in double-figures, the Wolfpack shot extremely well from the field, shooting 52.9% from the field, and 50% from three.

Defensively, the Wolfpack was stringent again, holding the Longhorns to 32.9% from the field, and 22.7% from behind the arch.

The only reason this game was this close, was due to Texas’ advantage on the offensive glass (18-8) and in turnovers (15-11). The Longhorns had 14 second chance points and 13 points off turnovers.

The Wolfpack return to action tonight against Hawaii at 7:30 (ET).
