QB Matt McKay Transferring From NC State

Less than a day after the conclusion of the NC State 2019 football season, Redshirt Sophomore Matt McKay announced that he has entered his name into the transfer portal.

McKay started the first 5 games of the season, completing 57.3% of his passes for 910 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception. He also had 4 rushing touchdowns.

Since Matt has already used his redshirt season, unless he goes Division-II, he would only have 1 year remaining having to sit out another year, unless he is a candidate to graduate early in three years.

NC State’s Quarterback room is now made up of what will be Redshirt Sophomore Devin Leary, Redshirt Junior Bailey Hockman, Redshirt Freshman Ty Evans and Freshman Ben Finley.
