De’Von Graves & Malik Dunlap Transferring from NC State

According to Matt Carter of TheWolfpacker, NC State defensive backs De’Von Graves and Malik Dunlap have entered the Transfer Portal.

Graves just wrapped up his Sophomore season in Raleigh, and logged an astronomical amount of reps, playing right under 600 snaps on the year. He started the year as Jarius Morehead’s backup at Strong Safety, but still saw significant playing time. After all of the injuries at the Cornerback position, Graves was moved to Cornerback. He started in 4 of the 11 games he played in this year, finishing with 23 tackles, 4 pass breakups and 1 forced fumble. Graves was a 4-Star prospect in the Wolfpack’s 2018 recruiting class.

Dunlap was thrown into the fire after the Syracuse game due to injuries above him on the Depth Chart, starting 5 of the last 6 games at Cornerback. The Redshirt Freshman finished the year with 20 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 8 pass breakups. Dunlap was a 3-Star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class.

Graves leaving is the biggest shocker, because he all but had a guaranteed spot to start at Strong Safety next season.

These two are the third and fourth players to leave the program since the end of the year, joining Quarterback Matt McKay and Offensive Lineman Justin Chase.
