NC State Men’s Basketball coaches were in attendance last night watching 4-Star 2021 Center Roosevelt Wheeler (6’10″/220) of John Marshall High School (Richmond, VA).

NC State has made an early impression on Wheeler. After offering the standout from Virginia in August of last year, Wheeler decided to take an early Official Visit to NC State back in September.

Wheeler is ranked as the #55 overall player nationally according to Rivals, and the #9 Center. 247Sports ranks him as the #67 overall player, the #12 Center, and the #3 player in the state of Virginia.

Every single member of the NC State coaching staff has connections to the state of Virginia. Head Coach Kevin Keatts coached at Hargrave Military Academy for over a decade, and is a native of Lynchburg. Assistant Coach James Johnson is a native of Powhatan, Virginia, and coached at Longwood College, Hargrave Military Academy, George Mason and Virginia Tech, which are all in the Commonwealth. Assistant Takayo Siddle played for, and served as a coach with Keatts at Hargrave. Assistant Roy Roberson coached 20+ years in the state of Virginia.

NC State has made Wheeler a top priority in 2021.

Wheeler also holds offers from Georgetown, VCU, Wake Forest and ODU.
