NC State Showing Interest in Virginia Tech Transfer Landers Nolley
Two days ago news broke that Redshirt Sophomore Landers Nolley II (6’7″/230) would be transferring from Virginia Tech.
After redshirting his first year in Blacksburg, Nolley led the Hokies in scoring this year, averaging 15.5 points and 5.8 boards per game as a Freshman. As a result, he was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team.
Nolley is going to have a lot of schools after him, and according to Stockrisers.com, NC State is one of his suitors.
Nolley is familiar with NC State, having taken an Official Visit to Raleigh back in September of 2017, before committing to Georgia the next month. That commitment was short lived, signing with Virginia Tech the next month.
Even though Nolley has already used his redshirt year, the NCAA is considering a new rule that would allow athletes to transfer 1 time in their career without having to sit out a year. If the rule isn’t passed in time, Nolley could file a waiver to play immediately. To add to the scenarios in play, going pro early isn’t out of realm of possibilities.
