NC State has offered a scholarship to Santa Clara Transfer Guard Trey Wertz (6’4″/180), who recently announced he was transferring from the Broncos.

Wertz averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists last year as a Sophomore, earning All-WCC Team Honorable Mention. He was extremely efficient shooting the ball, knocking down 48.9% from the field, and 40% from beyond the arch. As a Freshman, Wertz earned a spot on the WCC All-Freshman Team.

He has also picked up offers from Arizona, Xavier, Wichita State, Appalachian State, and UNC-Charlotte, and has received interest from some of the best programs in the country.

Wertz will have two years of eligibility left wherever he lands, but will have to sit out a season due to transfer rules. He played high school ball at Providence Day in Charlotte, North Carolina.
