Former NC State All-ACC Quarterback Russell Wilson had his best season to-date according to ProFootballFocus, with an overall grade of 91.9 (beating his Rookie season grade: 90.6), which was the best offensive grade on the Seahawks, the best grade by a Quarterback in the NFL, the best overall grade by an Offensive player, and the 2nd best overall grade regardless of position behind Defensive Tackle Aaron Donald (93.6).

In 2019, for the 3rd time in his career, Wilson threw for 4,000+ passing yards, slinging it for 4,110 yards through the air (2nd most in career). He threw 30+ touchdowns (31) for the third consecutive year, and his completion percentage of 66.1% was his best since 2015 (2nd best of his career).

Wilson’s 2019 QB Stat Rankings

  • Passing Yards: 6th
  • Passing Touchdowns: 3rd
  • QB Rating: 5th (106.3)
  • Completion Percentage: 8th

While being elected to the Pro Bowl 7 times in his 1st 8 seasons, and earning 2nd Team All-Pro honors last year, the MVP award has alluded Wilson up to this point. In fact, he’s never even received a single vote for MVP. Despite all of 2020’s woes, maybe Wilson can bring the trophy home this year. ESPN’s bold prediction for this season is that Wilson will be the winner. According to Vegas odds heading into the season, Russell has the 3rd best odds.
