on

NC State has released their Depth Chart for their upcoming game against #24 Pitt this Saturday. Below is the Depth Chart, and NOTES are underneath.

Notes

  • Despite Redshirt Sophomore QB Devin Leary replacing Redshirt Junior Bailey Hockman during the game against Virginia Tech, Hockman’s name is still at the top, but an “OR” is now in between their names.
    • Doeren said at his press conference they will see this week who is most ready to lead the team this weekend.
  • While there is still an “OR” between Right Defensive End’s Savion Jackson (So) and Ibrahim Kante (R-Jr), Jackson’s name is now above Kante’s.
  • Redshirt Sophomore Linebacker Payton Wilson is listed as the starter after missing the game against VT. Doeren expects him to play.
  • Junior Free Safety Tanner Ingle is listed as the starter after missing VT, and Doeren said he hopes Ingle can go this weekend.
  • With Teshaun Smith being lost for the rest of the year, Redshirt Sophomore Malik Dunlap has moved from Right to Left Cornerback to start in his place. Freshman Aydan White has also moved over from the right side to be his backup.
  • Redshirt Freshman Shyheim Battle is listed as the starter at Left Cornerback again, but Sophomore Cecil Powell has moved over from the Right to be his backup.
  • Redshirt Freshman Khalid Martin suffered a scary injury on Saturday, and the timeline for his return isn’t known. As a result, he isn’t on the depth chart as Ingle’s backup. Freshman Devan Boykin has moved from Strong Safety to Free Safety to serve as Ingle’s backup.
  • Sophomore Rakeim Ashford isn’t on the Depth Chart, and Doeren said he is day-to-day. As a result, Redshirt Sophomore Isaac Duffy has moved from Free Safety to Strong Safety to back up Jakeen Harris.
