The MLB League Championship Series began last night with the Rays and the Astros. Game 1 of the Braves and Dodgers is tonight.

Six former NC State baseball players have gone on to play in the MLB League Championship Series, with 2 of them making 2 appearances.

SS Adam Everett – 2004 & 2005 (Astros)
RHP Tim Stoddard – 1979 & 1984 (Orioles & Cubs)
SS Trea Turner – 2019 (Nationals)
2B/3B Doug Strange – 1995 (Mariners)
3B Tracy Woodson – 1988 (Dodgers)
LHP Mike Caldwell 1982 – (Brewers)

Keep in mind, prior to 1969, the postseason was the World Series…that was it. Three former NC State players prior to 1969 played in the World Series when only 2 teams made the postseason.

LHP Kemp Wicker (1937) – 1 game
SS Jimmy Brown (1942) – 5 games
OF Dave Robertson (1917) – 6 games
