NC State released their depth chart yesterday for their upcoming game against archival UNC this Saturday. The Depth Chart is below, with notes underneath.

Notes

  • Redshirt Junior Bailey Hockman is the starting Quarterback now after Redshirt Sophomore Devin Leary broke his fibula against Duke.
    • Freshman Ben Finley is listed as Hockman’s backup at QB.
  • Sophomore Sensation Ikem Ekwonu is back home starting at Left Tackle. Ekwonu started 7 games at Left Tackle in 2019, but moved to Left Guard at the beginning of this year to make room for Graduate Tyrone Riley, who missed last year due to injury.
    • Ekwonu started at Left Tackle last week against Duke, even though the Depth Chart still had him listed at Left Guard. Against the Blue Devils, Riley moved to Right Tackle to fill in for the injured Justin Witt.
  • Unfortunately, Riley isn’t on the Depth Chart this week vs. UNC, getting injured himself against Duke.
  • Redshirt Junior Bryson Speas had been starting in place of Witt at Right Tackle for two games prior to Duke, but moved over to Left Guard against the Blue Devils. The Swiss-Army Knife Speas is back starting at Right Tackle this week against the Tar Heels.
  • Redshirt Freshman Dylan McMahon is looking to start his first game of 2020 at Left Guard.
    • To give more depth at Guard, Redshirt Junior Liam Ryan has moved from Center to backup McMahon.
  • With McMahon moving up to the starting spot, Freshman Sean Hill has moved into the depth chart to backup Right Guard Joe Sculthorpe.
