GAME HIGHLIGHTS: State Basketball Upsets #15 UVA on the Road 68-61

Oh Baby! For the first time in 47 years, State’s men’s basketball team has gone on the road and won four straight ACC games, beating #15 UVA 68-61. This game also breaks UVA’s home winning streak, dating back to February of last year, when State upset the Hoos (so if they’re still champs…and we beat them twice in their house…we are now kings of the castle, no?).

State lead the entirety of the game, outside of a few minutes in the second half. While there were some tense moments, the energy and momentum was almost always in the Pack’s favor.

Once again, Wolfpack freshmen came up HUGE, lead by Hayes scoring 16 points. Moore was about as confident as could be, coming off the bench to score 12 points with 4 boards and multiple defense stands. Even with some untimely turnovers, Funderburk added 14 points and 6 boards.
