RUMOR SQUASH: Keatts jockeying for the Penn State job? No, he’s not

Ok, what the heck is going on over on Twitter? Out of nowhere, this account that supposedly follows the coaching carousel (but only has barely over 1k followers) has set of a bit off a firestorm in the NC State fan community.

Wolfpack message boards and some on social media are suddenly asking the question; Is this rumor true? Is Keatts really looking to leave NC State?

The answer is no. He’s not. We didn’t even want to bother anyone with this, but we did go ahead and reach out to one of our long-time sources who said he saw the rumor online and there is absolutely nothing to it.

I mean, logic would tell you this is ridiculous. Leaving the ACC and NC State after just 4 years to go coach at …Penn State? A guy who grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, who still has ties to the Wilmington area, who is building something special in Raleigh. He’s going to go up north to coach Penn State? For what reason? Career suicide?

Not happening.

So I don’t know what’s going on with that Twitter feed but you can go ahead and unfollow. I also can confirm their rumor about Cuonzo Martin leaving Missouri is false. So the only two rumors on this feed we have sources for are both comfirmed false.

I’m sorry we even had to call attention to this, but we started getting questions and saw those same questions being asked elsewhere, so we wanted to weigh in.
