UPDATES: NC State Commit Ernest Ross Vs. GT Commit Dallan Coleman

This morning, Ernest Ross and Santa Fe High School play in the state semis against Georgia Tech standout Dallan Coleman. We broke down EVERY aspect of Ross’ game earlier in the week (highly suggest you checkout why we think he’ll be an issue for ACC defenders). Coleman is easily the best recruit coach Josh Pastner has had since stepping foot on the campus of GT. Currently ranked #32 on ESPN 100, the 4-star recruit had looks from Clemson, Louisville and Florida State, among others. The SG has crazy shooting abilities, which will allow us to really see if Ross’ perimeter defense is everything we’ve heard it could be.

Just a week ago, State’s Pass beat UNC recruit Dontrez Styles (with a whooping 37 point effort). Can State go 2 for 2 in ACC recruiting battles?

1st Quarter:

Ross’ first couple minutes were spent taking up space inside, as his team worked the ball around. Strong defensive effort, smooth on slides. Got on the scoresheet with a full court push and strong finish. Very next possession finished with authority on an alley oop. Spent final two minutes on bench with team cruising and a bad foul call (he got all ball).

2nd Quarter:

Not what we hoped to see today…Ross plays ZERO minutes in the second. With two fouls and his team on 32-11 run, he sits.

3rd Quarter:

Just when you think Ross looks a little off his game, he grabs a rebound in heavy traffic and finishes for two. With five minutes left in the quarter, Ross picks up his fourth foul. He’ll be sitting the remainder of the quarter.

4th Quarter:

Ross remains on bench to start quarter, but with 6 minutes to go he returns…only to foul out within 30 seconds. Worst game of the year for the State recruit.
