NC State advanced to the 2nd round of the NIT with a very focused and gritty victory on Thursday. Their opponent, however, wasn’t known until last night.

That is when #1 Colorado State faced off against #4 Buffalo.

This game went down to the wire, but in the end, it was Colorado State who made the plays, winning 75-73.

The Rams are led by David Roddy. The 6’5, do-it-all, sophomore guard is a downright monster. The guy is 6’5 and weighs in at 250lbs. He’s a 3-sport athlete and is a mismatch for anyone you can put out there.

Roddy averages 16 ppg and almost 10 boards. However, last night it was a team effort with 4 guys in double figures.

We’ll have a full breakdown of Colorado State, their players, how they like to play, and how NC State matches up with them early next week. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, watch the condensed version of last night’s first-round NIT matchup to get a feel for their style of play.

NC State will be back in Denton, Tx to face off against Colorado State on Thursday, March 25th, on ESPN2. Time is TBD.
