NC State had almost all the matchups in their favor against the #1 seeded Colorado State Rams, and it was obvious out of the gate. However, a deviation from their plan, the inability to knock down shots and having a full freshman backcourt ended up being their undoing.

State fell 65-61 as they allowed the Colorado State guards and David Roddy to combine for 50 points. The Pack was without their senior leader Braxton Beverly (injury),  and it showed. They shot just 43% and only 22.7% from the 3 point line and turned the ball over 17 times. (The freshmen guards had 12 of those).

We’ll have a full breakdown, quotes and more from the NIT loss that will send NC State home for the season.
