NC State Wrestling Coach Popolizio, Wins Co-ACC COY

Two weeks ago, we asked the question, “Who is the top State coach was right now?” We specifically looked at Wes Moore and Pat Popolizio.

Well, the latter just added more ammo to the debate.

For the third time in four years, State Wrestling coach has been name ACC Coach of the Year. This year, he’ll share the honors with Pitt’s Keith Gavin.

State had an incredible run, winning an ACC Championship before finishing 6th in the Nation. The National Championships finish was second highest to only the 2018’s squad, that ended up 4th. What’s even more exciting is the fact that State will be returning just about every stud besides Daniel Bullard.

With Coach Popolizio at the helm and Camacho, the Hidlay’s, Reenan and Wilson, among others returning, it seems likely that the display case will need to be expanded once again.
