NC State Extends Doeren’s Contract Through 2025

After much speculation and discussion, the NC State Board of Trustees approved an extension for head football coach, Dave Doeren, through 2025.

“NC State football continues to have significant momentum under Dave’s leadership and this new agreement further reflects our commitment to the direction of our program” said Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan.

Since taking the helm in the 2013 season, State has had winning seasons in 6 of 8. While setting a school record in a single-season for ACC wins with 7 last year, Doeren still holds a sub .500 record (28-38) within the ACC. Doeren’s teams have made six bowl games, while winning half, and had one season ending as a ranked team (#23 in 2018). Overall, he is currently second in school history for wins, with 55.

The 2018 season saw the most State players ever selected in one NFL draft, with Bradley Chubb selected fifth overall and seven Wolfpack members in total. Two dozen selections have been made over his tenure.

Doeren has added depth to a good squad and will hopefully show this extensions worth, as he returns 20 starters. The season officially kicks-off against USF on September 2.
