Could you ask for a better start to your weekend?

Late Friday, Nyheim Hines signed a three-year extension worth $18.6 million, with $12 million of that guaranteed. The $6.2 million per year average now makes him a top-10 highest-paid running back in the NFL.

A fourth-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, Hines has been a reliable back for the Colts, especially as a catching threat. Through his first three seasons, he’s averaged four touchdowns per season and racked up close to 3000 all-purpose yards.

At State, Hines had an interesting progression of usage over three years. Limited action freshman year (as a WR), before becoming a down and distance receiving RB in year 2 (43 receptions for 525 yards…was only behind Jaylen Samuels in number of receptions). His junior year, however, he took off. Over 1100 rushing yards (4th in ACC) and 12 touchdowns (5th in ACC), while still remaining a catching threat. He also ended his career as the 10th all-time in ACC history for kickoff return yardage.

Congrats Nyghtmare! Now go get yourself some Bojangles.
