Will Casey Morsell (ankle) be available for tomorrow’s ACC opener vs. Louisville? We have an update…

Casey Morsell hurt his ankle late in NC State’s 4 OT win over Nebraska on Wednesday and returned to the bench on crutches. After the game, Keatts mentioned that Morsell would undergo x-rays to see how serious the injury was.

This was a little concerning. If they found a high ankle sprain, Morsell would likely be out multiple weeks. If it was just a normal ankle sprain, then they’d be able to tape it up and potentially see what they could get out of him on Saturday when they take on Louisville.

Well, today we received some good news. Apparently, Morsell is being listed as a ‘game-time decision.’ We didn’t get any more information than that, but you can assume that means it’s nothing serious and likely not a high ankle sprain.

The Pack desperately needs Morsell out there, even if it’s just at 75%. His defense, physicality, and play-making ability are sorely needed. This team struggled to score (outside of Dereon Seabron) after Morsell went down vs. Nebraska.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more, but for now, Pack nation can breathe a sigh of releif.
