Miami is Insane and Clemson Loses Venables

Published

on

Just your average Sunday, right? Watching a little NFL, finding out State football is going to crush it on the west coast…and then…insanity.

If you haven’t heard what’s happening in Miami and Clemson, well then…

Miami has character, if that character was a cartoon

It’s well-known that folks in South Beach aren’t happy with Manny Diaz as their coach. So this weekend, University of Miami (without an AD right now) offered Oregon HC Mario Cristobal the position at UM.

With Manny Diaz not only employed still, but actively recruiting over the weekend.

Maybe Netflix can spin it as a new crime show. Miami desperately wants their husband, Manny, to be killed. They’re in love with another man that has a great life and family of his own. (There would be coke and strippers and boat shenanigans involved, but that’s a subplot about Miami and Manny’s kids. haha) How will it end? How are they going to kill Manny?

Is Cristobal a great coach with Miami ties, that the Hurricanes really need to hire? Yes. But to keep your coach employed, while you offer another coach, seems wild and unbelievable. Love him or hate him, Jay Bilas is 10000% correct;

Clemson reshuffling

While Miami deals with whatever the hell they’re doing, Clemson is also having a shakeup.

At the very least, Venables is out as Defensive Coordinator, after accepting the Oklahoma job. It sounds like Radakovich, Clemson’s AD, is actually heading to Miami. There have also been rumors that Clemson’s Offensive Coordinator has been active in interviews along the east coast.

If, IF, things work out “perfectly”, Clemson will have lost two ginormous pieces to their football program, plus an AD. Venables alone is massive. The man widely respected as the fiery, “hold me back” defense mastermind is out the door. While Dabo could and should be able to find folks to join him, at least for these next few years, it won’t be the same.

With Wake losing big players and Clemson losing big coaches, State has to be one to two notches higher in the “2022 is our year” mindset.

Man, that Miami HC change is nuts. No respect for Diaz at all.

Careful. Those losses may just tip Clemson over into the SEC , leaving the ACC mostly irrelevant and vulnerable.
