Former Wolfpacker TJ Warren looking to return to Pacers soon from foot injury

TJ Warren might finally be making his return.

Just about a week ago, news broke that Warren’s foot injury that has held him out since last season, may finally be healing.

Warren only played 4 games last season and has missed all of this season with a foot fracture, however, the news of his ‘favorable’ scan may mean his absence may be coming to an end.

A couple of days ago, head coach PJ Carlisle said that Warren will be out until 2022 (meaning he’ll miss the rest of this month), but also said he’ll have another scan in late December or early January. He added “There’s a chance that he could get the go-ahead to keep escalating the workload, but for now it’s just about (how) he’s clearly out of the boot, starting to do things more actively.”

Warren averaged about 20 ppg in his last full season, shooting a career-best 53% from the floor and a stellar 40% from 3 point range. He even dropped an insane 53 points in a game that season.

While he doesn’t get the hype of many other stars in the NBA, Warren has consistently improved and continues to fill up the stat sheet when he’s on the court.

Obviously, the Pacers need him back. They are sitting 4th in the central at 10-16.

Warren averaged 18 points and 6 boards over his career at NC State. Here is a little refresher from that time…
