Why You’re Going to Love NC State Football Commit MJ Morris

on

After a tremendous season, Doeren and staff are following it up by going all-in on recruits that fit the “State mold”. Great players that have the chance for outstanding ceilings. There’s one in particular, that we at PI can’t stop thinking about for the future; QB commit, MJ Morris.

Raw Talent

Morris has raw skills that should develop nicely by the time he needs to step into a starting role. His sophomore season saw a jump in decision making and accuracy, completing 61% of passes with a 3-1 TD to INT ratio, while also gaining nearly 7 yards per carry. By his senior year; 3,089 passing yards, 40 total touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. Yowza.

Morris has a big arm to go deep, while also having the ability to roll out and go short. The biggest eye opener is his pocket awareness. Consistently stepping up the pocket and having the patience and thought process to run or throw. State is getting an overall, beyond athletic QB. Vonwolf would like to remind you…lots of folks in the Southeast are going to be kicking themselves that they didn’t get him.

As if things couldn’t get better, Morris won the Rivals QB Challenge down in Georgia. Morris beat out a solid southeast grouping that included Clemson commit, Cade Klubnik.

Just Listen to the Man Talk About State

So we have this ultra talented young man committing to State. You see the reasons that many a coaches took interest in him and the excitement he could bring to Raleigh. Now listen to him praise State and his overall work ethic (all from Rivals.com).

“Every day since I committed to NC State, I wake up with a smile on my face,” Morris said. “Just being able to have the chance to play under head coach Dave Doeren and offensive coordinator Tim Beck brings a smile to my face every day.”

“Coach Beck was teaching me and I was learning their offense. He was helping me with some stuff in my game. Then just visiting around the campus, it was a great time. It had a great deal, great vibe, my mom and I loved it.

“I want them to know that I’m the hardest-working quarterback in my class.”

“I know they are going to develop me and help me reach my dreams of getting to the NFL.”

I mean…Morris couldn’t have answered those questions any better. Furthermore, the absolute, unquestionable love he has for Doeren and Beck is telling. State is creating a program with class guys, that put in the work and perform on Saturdays.

Welcome to the Pack, MJ.
