Remember when State was going toe-to-toe with the number one team in the country, only to have officials just completely miss big moments?

Ohhhhh, you thought we were talking about the game versus #1 Purdue a few days back. We were actually discussing #1 Iowa in wrestling yesterday.

All Heart

First off, we shouldn’t be discrediting State wrestling one bit. They may have lost the dual, but they 1000000% gained respect across the country. This squad is for real and everyone knows it.

After taking care of business against Binghamton and #10-ranked Mizzou, State faced #1 Iowa and gave them everything they could handle. Both Hidlay’s, Wilson and ED F*CKING SCOTT got big wins.

They came hungry, focused and pushed Iowa to literally the last match of the day, before falling 19-15.

While there is still an entire ACC run to get through, State showed why they might finally have their dream year when we move away from straight-up duals.

But here we are.

To set the stage. State was down 7-0 and freshman Ryan Jack found himself down 7-6. In the closing seconds, this happens;

It’s a shame, but not the end of the world. Like we said, you had freshmen balling out and top-ranked, elderly statesmen doing their thing. This team is a BEAST.
