The Notre Dame Fighting Irish improve to 6-2 in ACC play with a win over NC State, 73-65. Nate Laszewski was the leading scorer for the Irish with 18 points on 6 of 9 shooting, and notched the double-double with 11 rebounds in the win. Dane Goodwin contributed 17 points and 8 rebounds, and Blake Wesley scored 15 points, dished 4 assists and grabbed 6 rebounds for the Irish. Dereon Seabron was the Wolfpack’s leading scorer with 21 points to go along with 8 rebounds in the loss. (ACC Digital Network YouTube)

Could not watch the game. Box score would make you think fouls and three point shots made the difference. Highlights make the Pack look competitive. Even so, sloppy turnovers at critical times did not help. Too bad Morsell had foul trouble in what might have been one of his best games. Glad to see Hayes in scoring column. Tough to win when Terq (1-9) and Hellems make 6 of 24 shots.

Basically, sloppy play was a big part of why we lost but I don’t think this should be misconceived. The Irish didn’t in return blow us out because of that sloppy play. We in fact, kept them on their heels, especially in the first half but could have so easily been well ahead in points without said sloppy play. And this sloppy play was frustrating, slap in the face, kick in the gut, sloppy play, too. We probably forced four turnovers only to then turn it over right away, resulting in an Irish score.
