One publication thinks NC State Football will be ranked #6 overall in 2022

It’s way too early to start throwing out Top 25 predictions for the 2022 football season, isn’t it?

Might be, but that’s not stopping @BigGameBoomer from making their picks.

Big Game Boomer is a podcast that has been growing pretty fast over the past few years and one we listen to now and again. They are College Football fanatics who have done a pretty good job surveying the field and discussing teams all over the nation. Now, I wouldn’t take this to the bank, but the reason we’re posting it is that even outside groups are noticing what NC State is doing.

In this projection, NC State would be favorites to win the ACC (see that Clemson is ranked 17th). That’s not crazy, but ranked #6 nationally? Isn’t that a bit too optimistic?

Well, let’s see what others think…

NCAA.com has NC State ranked #15 in their projections.

247 Sports has NC State ranked #15 as well.

But hey, maybe Big Game Boomer isn’t too far off. ESPN even has us ranked #8 in theirs.

So there you have it. The consensus is that NC State is a Top 20 team. The only difference is that some think this is a Top 10 program and some think it’s just outside that realm.

And is it really “Too Early” to make these picks? Every single one of these projections note that it is, however, what really is going to change? All the recruits are locked in. The rosters won’t change that much. Maybe an injury here and there in the spring could adjust some stuff, but it looks to us like there isn’t a doubt that the Wolfpack are going to in the national picture. At least to start the season.
