NC State Women’s team knocks out Longwood 96-68
The #1 seeded Wolfpack took care of business this weekend with a blowout of 16th seeded Longwood. The Pack used a balanced attack, with 4 players in double figures to coast to the victory. Raina Perez led State with 16 points on 7-8 shooting, while Jakia Brown-Turner dropped 15 and added 7 boards. Cunane added 13, while Johnson and Boyd both had 12. The Lady Pack did it on both ends, shooting 50% from the floor, while owning the boards 50-38 and forcing 14 turnovers. Next up is #9 seed Kansas State today at 4 pm.

NC State baseball loses 2 of 3 to FSU. Now sitting at 11-8 on the season.
The Pack 9 started strong, but has hit a few bumps in the road as of late. They are sitting at 11-8 on the season, but they lost both games to #2 ranked Notre Dame and then dropped 2 of 3 to #8 ranked FSU. 3 game sets with GT, Clemson and VT is a good stretch to help them get back on track.

Robert Dillingham, 5 star PG, decommits from NC State
The hits keep on coming for NC State and Kevin Keatts. After a dismal season, fans were looking to next year in hopes to see a revived Wolfpack squad. However, Cam Hayes has opted to transfer, along with Jaylon Gibson, and now 5 star Robert Dillingham reopened his recruitment. Dillingham was a 2023 recruit, but there were thoughts that he may end up reclassifying to the 2022 class. With the departure of Hayes, PG minutes were wide open. Now those minutes fall directly on the shoulders of Breon Pass, a PG who logged less than 9 minutes per game last season.

NC State basketball fires 2 assistants
Mike Summey and Roy Roberson have been let go by NC State Basketball, leaving 2 spots open on their coaching staff. Summey came on board after the 2019-2020 season. He was a NC State grad who had experience as an assistant at Miami, Bowling Green, the Citadel and North Florida.  Meanwhile, Roberson was about to embark on his 5th year at State and before that was a high school coach. With 2 spots now open. it will be interesting to see where NC State looks. The NC State fanbase seems split at the moment. Some want to give Keatts more time, while others want to cut ties and move in a new direction, however, both groups seem to agree that seeing if some new assistants can help patch up some of the holes that have developed over the past few seasons.

We need 2 assistants and they need to be Joe Dooley and Justin Gainey. If not Gainey, Levi Watkins.

Several of our Lady Pack players will play their last game (ever) at Reynolds today. It’ll be a tough game, hope they get a win. Dillingham – It was great to sign such a major recruit, but I don’t believe we ever heard anyone from his camp mention reclassing to 2022. He may not have helped Keatts at all, and may be reopening his recruitment assuming Keatts won’t be here when he arrives. New Assistants – Keatts had to do something significant. Just hoping to pull a couple of program saving players out of the transfer portal wasn’t enough. Based… Read more »
