PORTAL NEWS: NC State getting a visit from 6’7 Landers Nolley, who dropped 29 on NC State as a Freshman

NC State almost landed 6’7 forward Landers Nolley out of high school.

Instead, the 4-star, #67 ranked player in the class of 2019 he ended up at Virginia Tech where he averaged 15.5 pts, shot 32% from 3, pulled in 6 boards, and dished out 2.4 assists. Nolley seemed on his way to becoming a true NBA prospect.

However, a late season slump slowed down his ascent. He then chose to transfer to Memphis to play under former Magic star Penny Hardaway.

In his first season with Memphis, his offensive usage went way down, but his stats didn’t really dip too badly. He actually became more efficient, averaging 13ppg, 4 rebounds, and shooting 41% from the field and 38.7% from 3 point range.

Last season, Nolly’s usage went down again. Both in minutes, shots and games started. Despite that, he finished the season at almost 10ppg, 4 rebounds, shot 38% from the floor and 33% from long range.

Now Nolley is on the move again and he’s seriously looking at NC State as an option.

Nolly would add size and shooting from the 3 or 4 spot for NC State, giving Keatts a lot of flexibility with those positions. Check out Nolly going off for 29 against the Pack two years ago at the top of the article.

5pm decision. We’ll know later today if we are still down in the hole or maybe almost out.

He’d be a good one to sign. Sounds like we have a shot at him, but Buzz at T A&M will be tough to beat.
