NC State lands commitment from 6’8 La Salle transfer, Jack Clark (with highlights)
Man, that was a rough month.
After a bunch of news of guys leaving, finally Keatts adds a solid piece in 6’8 wing Jack Clark from La Salle.
Clark is a 6’8 versatile wing who has a great stroke, sneaky athleticism, and is a fundamentally sound kid. He will have 2 years of eligability left and will certainly slot into NC State’s starting 5 from day one.
Last season Clark averaged 12 points and 6 boards, however he only shot 38% from the floor and 30% from long range. That said, Clark has battle a lot of injuries, but seems finally to be fully healthy. During his freshman season he shot 41% from the floor and blistering 41% from long range. He was a great shooter coming out of high school and many believe his battle with injuries were the cause of inefficincy shooting the ball the past two seasons.
Take a look…

Clark is a piece that will fit well in this system. He’s a smart player and a good passer for his size. He’s not going to create much off the dribble in the ACC, but if State can land a solid distributor at PG, Clark could really blossom. This is a very good portal pickup.
At 6’8” tall and potentially better than 35% from three, a very good addition. If Smith returns Clark would be a good replacement for Hellems. If Seabron returns(I live in hope, we would have an upgrade with Joiner at point. Gotta sign the Big Man though.
Looks like he can help. Looked at his 2022 games.(probably all league games) He scored double digits in 13 of the 19 games. 7 of those games with 8 or more rebounds, 7 games with 3 or more assists. Played 30+ minutes most nights.
Really glad to read your positive review on Clark. His stats did not wow me. I am, unfortunately, looking for a player or two who can be saviors for a lost in the wilderness pack of wolves. POINT GUARD. BIG MAN. Come on down!
Hopefully he’s a solid defender.
